Margaret Mayfield

Margaret Ann Mayfield, age 81 of Scott City, MO formerly of Jackson, MO. Passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at her home.

She was born on January 14, 1945, to the late Wilson “Woodie” and Grace Abernathy Craft in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Margaret married Lester Mayfield on May 29, 1977, in Fredericktown, MO. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2022.

 She was a member of the Behtany Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brothers: Woodrow (Pat) Craft and Larry Gene (Sheila) Craft and one sister, Janet Elaydo all of Jackson, MO; her nephew Eddie, and nieces: Shari, Lisa, Staci, Jen, Amy, Angie and Susan along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Woodie and Grace, and one brother-in-law Jose’ Elaydo.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, MO with Pastor Donnie Ford officiating.

Interment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Pocahontas, MO.
