Margie M. Stroder, 80, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015,
at Heartland Care and Rehab where she resided for the last 5 years.
She was born July 9, 1934, in Neelys Landing, MO, daughter of Ernest & Ava Marie Rumfelt Cathcart. She and Glen Dayton Stroder were married September 24, 1955. He passed away
May 13, 1998.
Margie went to school at the High Hill School near Neelys Landing, MO. She was a member of Haynes Chapel Congregational Methodist Church for over 60 years where she taught Sunday school for the Children Division. She worked at the International Shoe Factory in the Fitting Dept. for 30 years.
Loving survivors include her daughter, Beverly (Paul) Niswonger of Jackson; a granddaughter, Rosie (Tim) Bollinger of Millersville, MO; a grandson, Gary (Chris) Hale of Glascow, KY; two great granddaughters: Crystal and Angel Hale; a step-grandson; Steve (Tina) Niswonger of Chaffee, Mo; a brother, Donald Cathcart (Special friend, Melva Baker) of Oak Ridge, MO; three sisters: Lena (Sam) Johnston of Millersville, MO; Betty Joan Pickens of Jackson, MO; and Dorothy (Gerald) Rowland of Bonne Terre, MO; a half-brother: Troy Holifield of Charleston, MO; and a half-sister: Jerry (Charlie) Briggs of Redmond, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, a sister Mary Loos, and a brother John Cathcart.
Friends may call Monday, June 8, 2015, from 4-7 pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, MO.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 10:30 am, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Rev. Steve Sanders officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, MO.
