Marilyn L. Eggimann, 84, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Villas of Jackson Memory Care.
She was born November 24, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, to Raymond R. and Magdalene E. Wallman Doering. She was baptized, confirmed, and taught Sunday school at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville, also the church of her marriage to Vernon L. Eggimann on March 26, 1960. Two sons were born to their union, Bradley and Brent.
Marilyn was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked over 20 years at Mercantile Bank in Cape Girardeau, and later at Cracker Barrell. Marilyn always enjoyed visiting with customers.
Marilyn’s greatest joy was her family. She knew all their favorite dishes and treasured being able to prepare special meals and desserts for them. She enjoyed traveling with the family, and she and Vernon especially enjoyed dancing with friends on the weekends. Marilyn had a special knack for gardening, canning, and sewing. She and Vernon were longtime members of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville, where she sang in the choir, served several years as church secretary, and helped with all the church suppers and congregational gatherings.
Loving survivors include her husband of nearly 66 years, Vernon Eggimann of Jackson; sons, Bradley (Pamela) Eggimann of Lynn Haven, Florida and Brent (Milissa) Eggimann of Gordonville; four grandchildren: Lauren Eggimann of Jackson; Lynn (Matt) Christian and sons Cruz, Vonn, and Cole of Dexter, Missouri; Malinda (Nathan) Folkert and children, Alexander, Allison, and Elijah of Tallahassee, Florida; Matthew Eggimann of Lynn Haven; a sister, Katherine “Katy” Kester (Gary Eaker) of Jackson; and a niece, Tammy (Mike) Sides of Gordonville; and cousins, Butch (Vergie) Koeppel and Becky Slay of Jackson.
