Marissa Suzanne Hill

July 16, 1994 — June 5, 2015

Marissa Suzanne Hill, 20, of Gordonville, went to heaven Friday, June 5, 2015 from an accident in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was born July 16, 1994, in Cape Girardeau, daughter to Paul Gregory and Joy L. Bowen Hill. She graduated from Jackson Senior High in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, she worked at Saint Francis Medical Center as a certified nurse assistant. In spring of 2015, she joined the Army National Guard, where she was honored to serve her country.

Marissa was a very compassionate daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a tender love for her nephews and took every opportunity to be a part of their lives.

Her laughter and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew her. She enjoyed target shooting, kayaking, being out of doors, and spending time with family. Dancing with her friends was one of her favorite pastimes. Marissa had a sense of fashion and a creativity that God gave her. Whether it be wearing pearls or combat boots, she could be stylish in any occasion. She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.

She will be very missed and will forever remain in our hearts.

Marissa is survived by her mother and father, Joy and Greg Hill of Jackson, Mo.; four brothers, Josiah D. Holshouser of St. Charles, Mo., Collin M. Hill of Jackson, G. Scott Hill of Delta, and Chris P. (Amanda M.) Hill of Sikeston; five sisters, Rebekah J. (Brandon E.) DuBois of Cape Girardeau, Elisabeth K. (Micah E.) McDowell of Jackson, Amanda D. Holshouser of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Candace S. Hill of Jackson, Megan D. (Justin M.) Long of Kenmore, Ny; two nephews, Colten D. and River J. DuBois.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joshua Keith Holshouser of Scott City, Mo.; and a sister, Sarah Lou Richardson of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and memorial service directly following with Pastor Jeff Moran officiating.
