Marlene J. Scholl, 82, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born December 1, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, to Otto “Chip” and Lillian Haertling Wachter. She married Ray N. Scholl on August 13, 1960, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
Marlene was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She attended Jackson High School and worked for many years at the former Hosiery Mill, later spending over 37 years with New Lenco Company. She also cared for several homes in the community. Marlene enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and was well known for her baking.
Loving survivors include four children, Randy (Mary) Scholl, Scott Scholl, and Tim (Marty) Scholl, all of Jackson, and Stephanie (Don) Lozier of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren, Tonya (Alex) Sterling, Shea (Thomas) Schmittdiel, Don Lozier, and Sky Lozier; three great-grandchildren, Zander Sterling, Austin Lozier, and Thomas Jude Schmittdiel; one sister, Janet (Steve) Statler; and sisters-in-law, Agnes Wachter, Retha Pfeiffer, and Carolyn Wachter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Ray Scholl; grandson, Anthony Scholl; and brothers, Kenneth, Charley, and Marty Wachter.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Cory Stallings will conduct the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with interment following at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near New Wells.
