Martha Sue Feeney, 78, of Jackson, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at her home.
She was born May 7, 1947, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Ellsworth “Pat” and Margaret (Breen) Maguire. She and Gordon Feeney were married July 9, 1966. They are longtime members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Martha was a graduate of Reddick High School in Kankakee. She later graduated from business school and subsequently attended Southeast Missouri State University. She worked many years as an administrative assistant for Lonestar in Cape Girardeau.
Martha loved the Lord and was a devoted Catholic. Her faith was her foundation – steady and unshakable. It guided her through the hardest times and gave her strength, hope, and peace.
Martha was truly one of a kind. Her family was first and foremost. They were everything to her and she was their biggest fan. She had a fun, free spirit that could light up any room. Her laughter, sense of humor, energy, and kindness were contagious.
Martha was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, even though lately, things haven’t been going so well. She even joked that the Dallas Cowboys would be her pallbearers so they could let her down one more time.
Loving survivors include her husband of 59 years, Gordon Feeney of Jackson; four children and their spouses, Patrick (Bonnie) Feeney of Jackson; Mary Jo (Brian) Wilson of Beloit, Wisconsin; Christopher (Roberta) Feeney of Jackson; and Stephanie (Richard) Murray of Cooper City, Florida; eight grandchildren and their families: Derek (Rebekah) Feeney and children Charlotte and Evelynn of Jackson, Brittany (James) Hammack and children Jolee, Ava and Crimson of Union, Missouri; Jordan Wilson of Beloit; Jessica (Larry) Orndorff and son Alphonse of Clinton, Wisconsin; Claire Wilson of Beloit; Taylor (Brock) Hammers and children Grace, Chloe, Blake and Tatum of Jackson; Samantha Feeney of St. Louis; Brody Murray of Cooper City, Florida; and a brother William “Bill” (Lois) Maguire of Joliet.
