Martha L. Kamp, 87, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 5, 1929, in Oak Ridge, to John W. and Meta Engelmann Daume, Sr. She and Elmer E. Kamp were married July 7, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit.
Martha was baptized May 19, 1930, and confirmed March 29, 1942, at St. John's United Church of Christ near Fruitland. She was a 1948 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.
Martha worked as a telephone operator; as a checker at the former Bi-Rite Grocery in Jackson; and 28 years as the school secretary at St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a former choir member, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, was active in the Concordia Guild, and enjoyed maintaining flowers around the school.
Loving survivors include her husband of 65 years, Elmer Kamp of Jackson; two daughters, Carol (Roy) Bollinger, Jr. of Jackson and Connie Oliveros of Orlando, Florida; three grandchildren: Landon (Jamie) Bollinger and children Carson and Jaxson of Jackson; Carlos (Brianna) Oliveros and children Carlo, Ava, and Sofia of Brookesville, Florida; Marta (Sergio) Perez and children Olivia, Lucas, and August of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Dorothy (the late Lawrence) Heise and Mary Daume, both of Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Jessie (the late Earl) Kamp, Dena (the late Albert "Jr") Kamp, and Darlene (the late Charles) Kamp, all of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Louise (Lloyd) Schoenebeck; a brother, John J. Daume; and two sisters-in-law, Elsie (Ernest) Schafer and Delores Daume.
Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m., at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to service time, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The funeral will be Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at the church, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating.
Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. .
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.
