Marvin P. Aufdenberg, 92, of Burfordville, passed away Wednesday May 23, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born on March 15, 1926 near Tilsit, MO, to Albert and Frieda Best Aufdenberg. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. He & Dorothy Lohman married on October 16, 1949. Their marriage was blessed with four children. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1968. On December 14, 1969 he and Gladys Fluegge were married.

Marvin was a prominent farmer in the Tilsit and Burfordville community where he raised grain, hogs and cattle. He was a lifelong member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit where he served as Elder, Financial Secretary, Trustee, and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of Farm Bureau, was the representative for SEMO Camp Board and the Lutheran Extension Fund Representative for Immanuel Lutheran Church. Marvin had a great love for his family, especially his great grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his love of gardening with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Gladys of Burfordville; two sons Dennis (Elizabeth) and Bradley (Teresa Kinsey) Aufdenberg of Burfordville; a daughter Diane (Ralph) Birk of Jackson; five grandchildren, James (Millie), Luke (Amanda) Aufdenberg, Denise (Anton) Essner, Eric Birk, and Heather (Brad) Gaines; nine great grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter, Blake, and Bailey Aufdenberg, Mason and Wyatt Gaines, Drew, Kinsey, and Ty Essner; Two brothers Leon, and Robert Aufdenberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Aufdenberg; three brothers Earl Aufdenberg, Harold Aufdenberg, and Albert (Junior) Aufdenberg and one sister Evelyn Gholson.

The visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilist.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit with

Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating.  Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church General Fund or the church cemetery fund, the Lutheran Hour or charity of your choice.
