He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, LaFern Ludwig Schoen; his parents, E. W. and Linda Sievers Schoen; a brother, Vernon Schoen; and two infant siblings.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to service time, Monday, June 1, 2020, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.  The funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating.  Burial and military rites will follow at the church cemetery.
