Mary Belle Rohde, 84, of Friedheim passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 15, 1941 in Daisy, Missouri the daughter of Bert Alexander and Bessie Jane Bollinger Hahs. While growing up, her home church was New Salem Methodist Church in Daisy.
Mary Belle was a 1959 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She and Cletus Rohde were married October 1, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, and after their marriage, Mary Belle was a faithful, active member of the church, serving many years as a Sunday school teacher.
Mary Belle worked 40 years for Joann’s Greenhouse, and served many years as a 4-H leader.
Mary Belle’s family was her pride and joy. She shared a passion for gardening and canning with her son, Jim, and they were always happy to share their produce with friends and family. Her delicious coffee cakes were always well received. Mary Belle and Cletus faithfully traveled to the special events and ball games of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Loving survivors include her husband of 65 years, Cletus Rohde, and their children, Jim (the late Debbie) Rohde, Marlene Rohde, Mike (Linda) Rohde all of Friedheim; grandchildren: Lucas (Casey) Rohde; Lance (Emma) Rohde; Kyle (Hannah) Rohde; Kory Rohde; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Dawson, Jase, Joanna, and Jamison Rohde, a sixth great-grandchild expected soon; a sister, Betty (late Nelson) Friese; sister-in-law, Betty (late Leon) Hahs; Cletus’s sister, Elfrieda (late Gene) Petzoldt of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Belle was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Rohde; siblings: Leon Hahs; Anne (Leroy) Ruch; and Dorenda (Hubert) Haupt; and Cletus’s sister, Diane (Lowell) Mangels.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 a.m. to service time, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
The Rev. Michael Winckler will conduct the funeral service at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 5, at the church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
