Mary Helen Ray, 72, of Jackson, was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 27, 1944, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, to Bonnie F. and Helen G. Powell Upchurch.
She worked at Collins Lamp and Shade in Benton, Missouri, and the former Holiday Inns in Sikeston and Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Kim West and wife Sam of Jackson, Mary Ann West and fiancee Courtney Smith of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Ashley West of Jackson, Adam West and Alex West-Parden of Cape Girardeau; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Borkowicz, LaVaiya West, and Landon West, all of Jackson; and three siblings, Dorothy Ray of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Mildred "Ninnie" Miller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Tommy "Tootsie" (Anna Dean) Upchurch of East Prairie, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby E. Ray; two brothers, Dwight and Joe Upchurch; and the father of her daughters, Ted West.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m., at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be Monday, January 30, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Oakdale Cemetery.
