Mattie Lee (Goza) Clippard

Mattie Lee Goza Clippard, 93, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at The Villas of Jackson. She was born the youngest of four children on January 9, 1932, in Jackson, daughter of Robert and Nadine Criddle Goza. She and Bob Elwood Clippard were married on September 9, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas. They were married for 73 years when he passed away, exactly one year ago to the day. Mattie was a 1949 Jackson High School graduate and cheerleader. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Jackson Women's bowling league and the Jackson Jaycee Ladies Auxiliary. Mattie enjoyed cooking, canning, and both vegetable and flower gardening. She was a supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed listening to Jackson Indian football games broadcasts on the radio. Mattie and Bob loved participating in ballroom, swing, and line dancing activities. Loving survivors include her three children, Sue (Ron) LeGrand, Mike (Kathleen) Clippard, and Gregg Clippard all of Jackson; three grandchildren, Carrie Ann Clippard Perez, Sarah (Jeff) Livesay, and Lori (Todd) Serpico; six great grandchildren, Avery Perez, Alec Perez, Aiden Livesay, Collin Livesay, Max Serpico, and Lola Serpico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents and siblings, Anna Jean Woods, Ella Dee Jones and Robert "Bob" Goza Jr. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Don Estes will conduct the funeral service at 12 p.m., on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. The family suggests that contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
