Melba D Phillips

Melba D. Philipps, 82, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born August 6, 1936, in Jackson, Missouri, daughter of Allois G. and Lulah M. Petzoldt Philipps.

Melba was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1954. Melba's work history was working in food and housekeeping services.

Loving survivors include two brothers, Julius (Janet) Philipps of Jackson, a twin brother Melbert Philipps of Sikeston, a sister Ell O'Dean Knight, of Scott City, three nieces:  Valeria (Dan) Klaproth, Sandra (Mark) Barr, Carolyn Wood, of Jackson, and one nephew Steven Philipps, of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, a brother in law Robert Knight, and a nephew John Keith Wood.

The visitation will start at 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 all at McCombs Funeral Home, Jackson. The Rev. Eric Longman officiating. Interment will follow the services in Russell Heights Cemetery, Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
