Melba Kay (Pringle) Foster

Melba Kay Foster, 64, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born September 6, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Marcell and Marian Moore Pringle.

Melba was a graduate of East Side High School in East St. Louis, Illinois.  She attended SIU in Edwardsville, Illinois, and SEMO in Cape Girardeau.

Melba worked more than 25 years as a youth specialist for the State of Missouri, first at Cottonwood Treatment Center in Cape Girardeau and then at the Division of Youth Services in Cape Girardeau.  She most recently worked at South Elementary School in Jackson.

Melba was saved and baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in East St. Louis.  The past several years, she was a member of Connection Point Church in Jackson.  She also enjoyed visiting Cape First in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include two children, Bryan Foster of St. Charles, Missouri and Kayla Foster of Jackson; a step-daughter, Trenier (Aaron) Pryor of St. Charles, Missouri; five grandchildren, Michael, Jaren, Jillian, Aaron, and Duane; her “granddog”, Bear; five siblings, Michelle “Mickey” and Marsala Pringle, Merla “Diane” Simmons, Marcell “Kenny” and Marion “Binky” Pringle; and her husband, George Foster.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to service time, Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Connection Point Church in Jackson.

The funeral is at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the church, with the Rev. Chris Vaught officiating, assisted by the Rev. Chad Fisher.

Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
