Jackson

Michael Thomas Rouse, 65, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Michael was born May 7, 1957, to George F. and Theresa (Kaase) Rouse in St. Louis. He and Lisa Job were married April 15, 1978, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

From a very young age, Michael took part in his family’s business, the Cape County Private Ambulance Service, where his passion for helping others grew and developed. He loved assisting children and elderly. The family’s ambulance service business led Michael to becoming a paramedic, then a nurse, followed by a surgical assistant from which he retired in 2015.

Michael was a 1975 graduate of Jackson High School. Michael began the Jackson USA Wrestling program in 1990, that he ran and coached, until 2006. He returned to coaching youth wrestling in 2018, and officially retired in 2020.

He enjoyed many years of fishing and hunting, especially time at deer camp. He enjoyed classic and southern rock music and kept up with the new music that he shared with others.

From an early age, Michael learned to ride motorcycles. He developed a love not only for motorcycles, but for the best of the best motorcycles, being Harley Davidson.

Most of all, Michael loved and cherished his family. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Michael will be sincerely missed by all the lives he has helped and touch in the time he shared here with us.

In addition to his loving wife of 44 years, Michael is survived by two sons, Clay (Erica) Rouse and Cody Rouse, both of Jackson; two grandchildren, Jack Thomas Rouse and Skylar Rouse, both of Jackson; a brother, Don Rouse of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Mari Job of Oskaloosa, IA; a brother-in-law, Franklin Myers of Cape Girardeau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dave Rouse; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul H. and Melba Job; a sister-in-law, Paula Myers; and two brothers-in law, Stephen and Larry Job.
