Michelle "Mickie" E. (Baumann) Hampton

Michelle Elaine “Mickie” Hampton, 66, of Chaffee gained her angel wings and reunited with her soul mate Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born December 3, 1953, in San Diego, California, to Tharon E. and Donna D. Funk Baumann.  She and Leslie J. “Les” Hampton were married March 8, 1975 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  They had been married 44 years when Les passed away December 16, 2019.

Mickie worked many years as a material handler at Columbia Sportswear in Chaffee until the company closed in 2000.

Her first joy was spending time with her grandchildren.  Other interests included reading, spending time with her friends, and crocheting.

She is survived by four children, Tia (Dennis) Gore of East Prairie, Jacob (Jennifer) Hampton, Joshua Hampton, and Jason Hampton, all of Chaffee; eight grandchildren; and two siblings, Julie (Scott) Debo and David Baumann, both of St. Charles, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Dan Baumann.

The family has chosen not to have a memorial service at this time.  They will have a celebration of life gathering to honor the memories of both Mickie and Les at a later date.

Mickie’s care was entrusted to McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
