Minnie Marie Williams, 86 of Jackson passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 21, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, to Herbert and Esther Shrum Deimund. She and Jesse Williams, Sr., were married July 7, 1950 in Piggott, Arkansas. They had been married 67 years when Jesse passed away January 5, 2018.
Minnie was a graduate of Jackson High School in 1949. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church. She had worked as a server at the former Sunny Hill Restaurant in Cape Girardeau and International Shoe Factory in Jackson for 30 years until it closed. She also worked at Lee Rowan in Jackson until she retired in 1994. She loved being outdoors and working in her flowers and always had a great garden. In her spare time, she embroidered and pieced together quilt tops.
Loving survivors include a son, Jesse (Pat) Williams, Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Cynthia (Gary) Dudley, Sr. of Jackson and Juanita (Dan) Copeland of Jackson; a sister: Rosa Goehman of Chaffee; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and one special Fur Baby, Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, her parents, and a sister: Vera Weiss.
The visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2018, from 4 pm ~ 8 pm and on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 9 am until service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 11 am, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Brown officiating.
A committal service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to Southeast Health Foundation Cancer Fund.
