Nancy A. O'Neal

Nancy A. O’Neal, 93, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2026, at Capetown

Assisted Living Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Born on May 2, 1933, in Guthrie, MO, Nancy was the daughter of the late Raymond and

Gladys Dawson. She earned an associate degree from Hannibal-LaGrange University

and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Missouri.

Nancy began her career teaching high school business in University City, MO. In 1967, she established Tonanzio’s Restaurant in Farmington, MO, which she proudly owned and operated until her retirement in 2007. Known by many as “The Pizza Lady,” Nancy’s welcoming smile, generous spirit, and dedication to her restaurant touched countless lives. Through the years, many customers and employees became dear and lifelong friends. She was a member of the Business Professional Women’s Association and First Baptist Church of Farmington.

On June 20, 1965, Nancy married the love of her life, Stanley C. O’Neal, at First Baptist

Church in New Florence, MO. They shared 58 years of marriage before Stanley’s

passing on November 17, 2023.

Nancy is survived by her son, Mark (Joey) O’Neal of Jackson, MO; daughter, Anne

(Fred) Lerche of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Riley and Bailey O’Neal and Evan

Lerche; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pat

Waid, and her brother, Tom Dawson.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral

service at 11:00 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson,

MO, with Pastor Daniel Seabaugh of La Croix Church officiating. Interment will follow at

Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
