Nancy Alene (Wilson) Friese

Nancy Alene Wilson Friese, 86, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

One of four siblings, she was born September 27, 1936, in Millersville, Missouri, to Edward Thomas and Ruby Stearns Wilson.  Alene attended Roberts and Millersville Elementary Schools, and was a 1953 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.

She and Luther “Bud” Friese were married September 27, 1953.  Five children were born to their union, Carolyn, Jerry, Stanley, Pat, and Sharron. They had been married 48 years when Bud passed away July 11, 2002.

Alene was a homemaker and especially liked to bake.  More than anything, she loved caring for her grandchildren.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and was active in the women’s group.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Pat (Doug) Overbeck of Pocahontas, Missouri and Sharron Werner of Jackson; a son-in-law, Jr. (late Carolyn) Moonier of Perryville; two daughters-in-law, Mary (late Jerry) Friese and Karen (late Stanley) Friese both of Jackson; six grandchildren. Bethany Friese, Joanna (Matt) Koehler, Nicholas Friese, Laura (James) Cassatt Jr., Kelsey (Sean) Resnick, and Lindsey Overbeck; a brother, Tom (Jan) Wilson of Jackson; and a sister-in-law, Loretta (late Charles) Wilson of Oak Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three children, Carolyn, Jerry, and Stanley; a granddaughter, Sharrona Werner; and two siblings, Gladys (Otto) Parson and Charles Wilson.

Visitation is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.  The Rev. Janet Hopkins will conduct the funeral service at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Daisy.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
