Nannie Green

Jackson, Missouri

Nannie M. "Nan" Green, 85, of Bloomfield and formerly of Jackson, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri. One of four children, Nan was born September 2, 1937, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, to Kelly and Lydia Reynolds Carpenter. She was a 1955 graduate of Midway High School. She and William L. "Bill" Green were married November 3, 1956, at Midway Christian Church in Midway, Kentucky. They had been married nearly 64 years when Bill passed away September 8, 2020. Nan earned her cosmetology license and owned and operated her own shop in Midway. In 1969, the Green family moved to Jackson and became members of the Assembly of God Church, where Nan was faithful in participating in the women's ministries. Nan's highest priority was caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and especially enjoyed baking at Christmas time. Loving survivors include her children, Kelly (Denise) Green of DeWitt, Arkansas; Kayelean (Bill) Vance of Bloomfield; Wanda (Dwight) Hensley of Bloomfield; Suzanne (Jerome) Townsend of Jackson, and Joy Harris of Jackson, Missouri; 12 grandchildren: Nathan Green, Erin Baldwin, Bethany Reece, Kory Vance, Tyson Hensley, Leighton Hensley, Alana Wilson, Quade Townsend, Kendall Townsend, Brayden Beaird, Peyton Beaird, and Daythan Lane; 13 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Herbert Carpenter of Lexington, Kentucky and Lexie Barath of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Floralene Carpenter, and her parents. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Dwight Hensley will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, December 19th, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade, c/o The Assembly, P. O. Box 444, Bloomfield, MO 63825.
