Naomi Viola Hartle

September 13, 1922 — April 24, 2006

Naomi Viola Hartle, 95, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born September 13, 1922, near Millersville, the only child of Francis and Louise Summers Hartle.

She and H. Dale Hartle were married January 6, 1945, in Corning, Arkansas. Early in their marriage, they resided in Charleston, Missouri. Upon returning to Jackson in 1958, they became members of New McKendree United Methodist Church. They had been married 61 years when Dale passed away April 24, 2006.

Naomi worked at the former International and Florsheim Shoe Companies in Jackson, retiring in 1984.

Naomi was active at New McKendree church. She was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Wednesday Morning Bible Study Class, United Methodist Women, and the Mary and Martha Circle. She was also a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Jackson.

Naomi liked to write poetry for her own enjoyment and for family and friends on special occasions.

Loving survivors include a son, Gary (Barbara) Hartle of Jackson; a grandson, Shawn (Penny) Hartle of Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Colton Dale Hartle and Adyson Grace Hartle of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to service time, Friday, April 6, 2018, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral is at 2 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to New McKendree Radio Ministry or Fairview Methodist Cemetery.
