Nelda Ludwig, age 100, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born January 12, 1918, in Fruitland, daughter of Theodor "Pete" and Bertha "Betty" A. Pfeiffer Leimer. She and Ervin Ludwig were married August 27, 1944. He passed away November 15, 1998.
Nelda was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was the oldest living member of the congregation.
She is lovingly survived by a daughter, Betty Jo Ludwig of Pocahontas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ervin, Tillman, Melvin, Norman and Wilmer Leimer, and two sisters, Alma Leimer and Irma Kasten.
The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 12:30 until service time on Saturday, at St. John's Lutheran Church. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church with Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Pocahontas.
The family suggests that contributions be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
