Nellie Colleen Carver ‘CoCo”, 83 of Jackson, passed away at her home Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Born on Saturday, October 3, 1942, in Pemiscot County, Missouri, Nellie was the daughter of the late James Prater and Ila Phillips Kittleson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nellie worked as a dedicated salesclerk at Walmart, where she was known for her warm smile and helpful nature. Her colleagues and customers alike appreciated her friendly demeanor and commitment to her work.
A woman of many interests, Nellie had a deep love for her dog and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her favorite color was blue, and she often referred to herself as "fat and sassy," a testament to her vibrant personality and sense of humor. She enjoyed spending her free time with adult coloring books, watching her favorite TV show, "The Golden Girls," and was a talented seamstress.
Nellie is survived by her loving children: two daughters, Melissa (Gary) Michie of Cape Girardeau and Darinda (Carrie) Carver of Jackson; and a son, Jeff Cecil of Dexter. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Tyler (Kayla) Michie of Las Vegas, Kesler Michie of Springfield, MO, Demi (Cierra) Learue, Alexandra (Jeremy) Brotz, all of Dexter, and Lydia, Logan, and Lilly Blunk of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Nellie's memory.
