Nellie Christine (Varner) Randol - Lipp

Nellie Randol Lipp, 87, of Jackson passed away June 22, 2025, at The Villas of Jackson.

She was born on February 12, 1938, in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, to James Russell and Grace Gertrude Smith Varner. She married Mike Randol on May 26, 1961, and they had two sons: Mark and James. Mike passed away on April 8, 1974, after nearly 13 years of marriage. She married Jerry Lipp in January 1999 and remained married for 24 years until his passing on July 3, 2023.

Nellie graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School and served in the U.S. Navy, where she met her first husband Mike. She took great pride in her work with the Jackson Police Department. Nellie met her second husband Jerry through Parents Without Partners Organization, and they lived in Ste. Genevieve for over 20 years until his passing. She was a member of the Ste. Genevieve American Legion Post 150 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loving survivors include her son, Mark (Jackey) Randol of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, James Michael Randol, Christina (Sharaz) Mahmood and their children, Katherine and Zayna, Marykatherine Randol and Dustin (Heather Brown) Randol and their son, Dexter; and two brothers, Arthur and Douglas Varner.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mike Randol and Jerry Lipp; a son, James Randol; eight brothers; and two sisters.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Revs. Mike Parry and Father Deacon Stephen Dow will conduct the funeral service at noon, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Russell Height Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Jackson Police Department Benevolent fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
