Norma Jean (Dolle) Fadler

June 2, 1930 — April 28, 2024

Jackson, Missouri

Norma Jean Fadler has earned her heavenly home. She passed away April 28, 2024, in the presence of her two sons at the Lutheran Home Providence Hospice Care.

She was born June 2, 1930, in Sedgewickville, Mo. to Tony “Ted” and Grace (Seabaugh) Dolle. On August 15, 1947, she married William H. “Billy” Fadler, who preceded her in death June 25, 2020.

Norma Jean was member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. Prior to that, she and Billy had been active members at Reagan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Patton, Missouri. She was a faithful servant to the Lord, reading the entire Bible yearly.

She began her school teaching career at an early age, attaining her Bachelor of Science Degree from Southeast Missouri State College in 1960. She taught in several one-room schoolhouses for many years, prior to teaching at Patton-Sedgewickville R-2 School District and retiring from Meadow Heights R-2 School in 1987, after 40 years of teaching.

She and Bill enjoyed many hobbies: square dancing, trail riding, showing horses, and camping with friends and family members. She was a member of the Blue Creek Quilters, where many pleasant hours of fellowship were enjoyed. She also enjoyed quilting with the New McKendree ladies. Family and friends have reaped the benefit of her talents with many quilts as precious memories. She was a fantastic, no-need-for-a-recipe cook, teaching her granddaughter the art of making chicken and dumplings and donuts.

She is survived by her two sons, Billie Dwane (Jeannette) Fadler of Jackson and Elwood Lester “Woody” Fadler of Jackson; a granddaughter, Nicole Fadler Stevens (Tyler) of Chesterfield, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Anderson and Rush Stevens; two sisters, Betty (late Don) Yount of Pilot Knob, Missouri and Anna Lee (late Glen) Mungle of Troy, Missouri; and a brother-in-law, Charles (Judy) Fadler of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; Billy’s parents, William and Matilda Cook Fadler; and Billy’s siblings:  Norma June (Bob) Davault; Rosa (Charlie) Lux; Juanita (Denver) Rehkop; and Billy’s two young sisters.
