Norma Jean Niswonger, 90, of Whitewater, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the home of a daughter in Chaffee, Missouri.
She was born October 15, 1935, in Allenville, Missouri, to Chester and Alice Grebe Kinder. She and Raymond Niswonger were married September 10, 1953. Five children were born to their union. They had been married 51 years when Raymond passed away June 6, 2005.
Norma attended Poplar Ridge School near Gordonville. She was a seamstress, working at Eli Walker Company in Scott City, and retiring from Thorngate Mfg. in Chaffee. She was a member of Whitewater Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening.
Loving survivors include four children, Donna DeBrock-Gentry of Whitewater, MO; Karen (Jerome) Foster of Chaffee; Michael (Nancy) Niswonger of Jackson; Keith (Marilyn) Niswonger of O’Fallon, Missouri; grandchildren: Lisa (Brian) Towe; Heather (B.J.) Courtney; April (Dustin) Umfleet; Christy (Dan)Cruz ; John Niswonger; Sarah( Timothy) Howell; Christina Pobst; Herbert Jr. (Heather) Seyer; Robert (Hannah) Seyer; Aaron Niswonger, 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Shirlene (Ronald) Deneke of Gordonville; Betty Starks of St. Louis; Joyce (Bill) Johnson of Cape Girardeau; Gerald (Pearl) Kinder of Chaffee, MO; Faye (Wayne) Deneke of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Raymond Niswonger Jr. and siblings, Melba Nickless and Don Kinder.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The Rev. Ed Rhodes will conduct the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Zion Methodist Cemetery near Gordonville.
