Opal Mcmanus Wilson

March 13, 1927 — January 18, 2017

Opal McManus Wilson, 89, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday January 18, 2017, at her home in McClure, Illinois.

She was born March 13, 1927, in Oak Ridge, Missouri, to George W. and Carrie Alma Brown Suhr. She and John McManus, Jr. were married October 9, 1943. They had been married 44 years when he passed away January 3, 1988. She and Doyle Wilson were married November 11, 1995.

Opal was a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church in Cape Girardeau. She worked 40 years at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, retiring as housekeeping supervisor. She was a 50-year member of the Whitewater Eastern Star Chapter #174.

Loving survivors include her husband of 21 years, Doyle of McClure; a foster son, Wayne (Lynn) Jones of Cape Girardeau; a foster grandson, Rodney Jones of St. Louis; a step-daughter, Kimberley (Dean) Houseman of Millersville, Missouri; two grandsons, Jesse Houseman of Jackson, Missouri, and Joshua Houseman of St. Louis; and a great-grandson, Jace Houseman.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise, Lucille and Eliza.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time, Saturday, January 21, 2017, at First Pentecostal Church in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the church with the Revs. Darrell Faire and Jack Cathcart officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Arrangements by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
