Patricia Sue Hutchings

Patricia Sue Hutchings, 77, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at her home with family.

She was born October 3, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, to Lawrence and Leona Nagel Altenthal. She was a 1965 graduate of Cape Central High School. She and Robert D. Hutchings were married June 23, 1973. They had been married 34 years when Robert passed away December 29, 2017.

Patricia worked at Ralph Edwards Sportswear and Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau and retired as a cook from the Jackson R-2 School District.

She enjoyed gardening, watching hummingbirds, and above all, spending quality time with her family.

Loving survivors include a son, Steven (Patti) Holland of Jackson; Robert "Bo" (Melanie) Hutchings of Jackson, and Jean Ann Hutchings (Mark Miller) of Park Hills, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren: siblings, Aaron (Beverly) Altenthal of Whitewater, and Jackie Dodds of Jackson.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Larry Dean Altenthal.

The Rev. Randolph Tochtrop will conduct a graveside service to honor Patricia's life at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital or Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, Jackson, MO. These are causes that were close to her heart.
