Paul Ray Friedrich, 90, of Jackson, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 9, 1930, on the family farm north of Jackson, son of Ray Henry and Elsie Ruby Rapp Friedrich.
Paul R. and Wanda Maxine Webb were married March 25, 1950. She preceded him in death April 21, 2017.
Paul was a 1947 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He worked as a farmer all his life having purchased his first farm in 1951.For many years he bought and sold cattle and up until recently could be found every Tuesday at the Fruitland Sale Barn. Paul received special recognition from the Jackson Jaycees as “Outstanding Young Farmer” of the year. He would do custom baling and combining for others in the area.
Paul was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, having served on the church council for many years, was former church treasurer, and helpful in many other areas at the church.
Paul was instrumental in forming the Jackson Trail Riders Club and had served on the CO-OP Service Center Board for many years.
Loving survivors include six children, Paula Friedrich of Cape Girardeau, Gail (Gary) Kamp of Burfordville, Randy (Yvonne) Friedrich of Jackson, Patti (Ronnie) Asher of Jackson, Sandra “Sandy” (the late Mark Bise) Friedrich of Fort Myers, Florida, Tammy (Jim) Mueller of Jackson: 10 grandchildren, Laura (Kris) Daniel, Renee Asher, Ryan (Whitney) Asher, Chris and Cassie Kamp, Kent and Alex Friedrich, Erin and Kyle Bise, and Chase Mueller; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Greyson Daniel, Adley Asher;
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maxine of 67 years, and a brother, Douglas Friedrich.
Visitation is from 10 am until 12:30 pm, Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Chapel A of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral is at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the funeral home, with Dr. Rodney Pensel officiating
Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Charity of Donor’s choice.
