Paul R. Wareing

Paul R. Wareing, age 93, of Thebes, Illinois passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at his home with his wife and family nearby.

He was born Aug. 29, 1926 in Cape Girardeau, son of William Harry and Della Luthy Wareing.  He and Jessie Adams were married Dec. 20, 1954 in, Hernando, Mississippi.

Paul was of the Baptist Faith and attended First Baptist Church in Thebes.  He retired from Cargill. Paul was a family man. He loved his wife, his family, and his God.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, Jessie Wareing of Thebes, loving survivors include three sons, William “Everett” (Twyla) Wareing of Thebes, Paul “Martin” (Nancy) Wareing of Mounds, Illinois, and Bruce Michael (Teresa) Wareing of Jackson, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Athena) Wareing of Denver; Colorado, Dustin (Amanda) Wareing of Jackson; Chris (Gina) Wareing of Mounds; Tim Wareing of Sikeston, Missouri; Nathan Wareing of Jackson; Tara (Zack) Amis of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Shaina Wareing of Jackson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, six sisters, and a great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
