Paygene B Elliott

Paygene “Peg” B. Elliott, 95, of Jackson, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 13, 2025, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born February 27, 1929, in Corning, Arkansas, to Bryan and Cecil (Burns) Burns.

Peg dearly loved her family, and daily lived the example of her Pentecostal faith.  She thoroughly enjoyed being a fulltime mother and homemaker while raising her children.

Loving survivors include her children, Joy Vaughn (Mike) Teson of Jackson; Sherry Elliott of Oregon; Jeffery Elliott of Arkansas; Tim (Becky) Elliott of St. Clair; daughter-in-law, Rachael (late Gary Don “Sam”) Elliott of Oregon; sister, Marylou Behnk of St. Louis; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Don “Sam” Elliott; two grandsons, Larry Schuler and Eric Fields; great-granddaughter, Michala Overy; brothers, Benny, George, Farris, and Coy Burns; sister, Joyce Bracken; parents; and former spouses, Wayne Vaughn and Donald Elliott.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to service time, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.  The Rev. Stan Hargis will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 16, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests the Alzheimer’s Association.
