Quentin Leslie Hueter, 95, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born September 17, 1930, in Scopus, Missouri, to Leslie Edward and Oleta Pernecie (Williams) Hueter. He and Mary Jo Riehn were married July 1, 1955, at Oak Ridge, Missouri. Three children were born to their union, Rick, Ron, and Lesli.
After graduating from Patton High School, Quentin worked at the Millersville General Store. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on February 8, 1952, and was honorably discharged January 16, 1954. Thereafter, he served in the Army Reserve until April 2, 1960. He was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.
Quentin retired from Southwestern Bell after 38 years of employment. He was an avid sports fan, always following the Jackson Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
To cherish his memory, Quentin leaves his wife of 70 years, Mary Jo Hueter of Jackson; three children, Rick Hueter of St. Louis; Ron (Ona) Hueter of Bastrop, Texas; Lesli (Jerry) Golden of Jackson; two grandchildren, Sam Hueter and fiancé Kayla Eckert of Dallas, Texas, and Elise Hueter of Austin, Texas; a brother, Rhuman (Wilma) Hueter of Festus, Missouri; four sisters, Eunice Francis, Beverly Johns, and Phyllis Phillips of Marble Hill, Jennis Benefield of McClure, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Forrest Hueter; and two sisters, Doris May Hueter and Gladys Marjorie Garland.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Kelly Francis will conduct the funeral service at 12 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Military honors and interment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the Missouri Veterans Home Foundation.
