Randall “Randy” Lee Miller, 75, of Cape Girardeau Missouri, died on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at his home.
Randall and Joy (Mallory) Miller were married on March 17, 1973. She survives of the home.
Randy was born on June 22, 1950, to Floyd and Jardena Miller of Granite City, Illinois. He received a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies at Missouri Baptist College and received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Dallas.
Randy was a Southern Baptist pastor for 38 years, serving at Ida Baptist Church, Marquette Heights Baptist Church and Albion First Baptist Church in Illinois; Little Whitewater Baptist Church in Bollinger County, Missouri, Second Baptist Church in Fredericktown, Missouri; and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Doniphan, Missouri.
Randy was known for his faith in Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to the ministry. As pastor at various churches, he was involved in missions work and community service projects both locally, across the U.S., and in other countries, including serving on the Missouri Disaster Relief Team as a chaplain and ministering to the victims of the Joplin, Missouri tornado in 2011.
Randy was an active member of Mercy Hill Baptist Church in Jackson. He enjoyed historical non-fiction and was an avid follower of the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, and was well known for his ability to elicit a groan or an eye roll with his talent for terrible dad jokes.
He is survived by his wife; sons Bob (Callie) Miller of Jackson; Jim Miller (also known as George) of Cape Girardeau; and Rus (Allison) Miller of Cape Girardeau; grandsons Drew (also known as George), Dawson (also known as George), and Eli Miller (also known as George); granddaughters Palmer and Reese Miller; brother Russell Miller and sister Becky (Butch) Mestemacher, both of Maryville, Ill.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Miller, and his parents.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Mercy Hill Church in Jackson. Bro. Ken Wilson will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, August 15, at the church. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. .
