Randall "Flash" Flath

Randy "Flash" Flath, 68, passed away in St. Louis at SSM Health hospital surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. He was born in Fredericktown, Missouri, on September 9th, 1958 to the late Clifford and Shirley (Kemp) Flath.

He graduated Woodland High School in the class of 1976.

Randy married the love of his life, Michelle on October, 11th, 1997.

Randy loved deeply, laughed often, and never needed a reason to show up for the people he cared about.

Above all else, Randy loved his children, Zachary and Zoe with his whole heart. They were his pride and joy, and being their dad was one of the greatest blessings of his life. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them, and he was incredibly proud of the people they became.

Randy was the kind of person who was always willing to help. If someone needed a hand, he was there. His friends and family meant everything to him, and he loved them fiercely and wholeheartedly.

And then there were his “Misfits.” His softball team wasn’t just a team—they were his people. The friendships, laughs, stories, and memories they shared held a very special place in his heart.

After his retirement, Randy enjoyed visits to the casino, and continued automotive windshield maintenance repairs.

Randy was also always willing to go along for the ride, especially when it came to Michelle. He would go to the beach for her even though he hated the water. It didn’t really matter where they were going or what they were doing. If it meant spending time with Michelle, his family, or his friends, Randy was in. For him, it was never about the destination—it was about being with the people he loved.

Randy leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, friendships, and love. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, an incredibly proud father, a loyal friend, a teammate, and the guy you could count on when you needed him.

Most of all, he will be remembered for the way he loved his people—with his whole heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Jim Cook.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle (Brugger) Flath of Jackson, Missouri; his cherished children, Zachary (Abby Payne) Flath, and Zoe (Shane Jansen) Flath.

Siblings; Phyllis Cook, Patty Owens. Steve Flath and an adopted sister, Brittany (Damian) Martin all of Marble Hill.

Randy is survived by his mother in-law; Marian Brugger, a sister in-law; Cathy (Rick)Hutteger, and two brother in-laws; Brent (DeOnna) Brugger, and Rick (Robin) Brugger.

Nephews and nieces; Eric (Kyla) Flath, Michael (Brooke) Owens, Kyle Brugger, Jamie (TJ) Findeiss, Megan (Jeremy) Wulfers, Dustin Hutteger and Breanna Brugger.

Great nieces & nephews; Hayleigh, Kaelin, Keaton, Audrey, Thomas, Joel, Nora, Tommy, Kameron, Leyton, Brynn, Hudson, Piper, Marlie, Conner and Korbyn.

To honor Randy's life, a visitation will be held at Connection Point church in Jackson, Missouri, on Sunday, September 27th, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 6: 00 pm at the church with pastor Chris Vaught to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McCombs Funeral Home & Cremation Center in jackson, Missouri on behalf of the Flath family to assist in funeral expensnses.
