Listen to Obituary

Randy R. Seabaugh, 63, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his home near Cape Girardeau.

Randy was born August 6, 1962, in Cape Girardeau, to James “Bob” and Dorothy (Heise) Seabaugh. He was a 1980 graduate of Cape Central High School. He and Emma Monroe were married September 7, 1991, at the Jackson Church of Christ. Two children were born to their union, Lindsey and Dylan.

Randy was employed as a truck driver for Jerry Lipps Trucking, including the P & G Drop Lot; USF Dugan; and Dayton Freight, retiring in April 2025.

Randy served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from October 8, 1980, to October 7, 1984. He was a telecommunications system control specialist, serving two years in England. He was awarded the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon; Air Force Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon; Air Force Training Ribbon; Air Force Good Conduct Medal; Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon; and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

On January 3, 2004, he entered the Missouri National Guard. During his 18 years with the 1140th Engineer Battalion in Cape Girardeau, he was called to serve in Panama; and during Hurricanes Rita and Katrina. He was deployed to Iraq for 12 months of active duty and worked in Signal Support Systems. He was awarded the Army Lapel Button; Army Commendation Medal; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (6); National Defense Service Medal (2); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/M Device; Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3; and the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon.

Randy was a Christian and had the heart of a servant. During his longtime membership at the Jackson Church of Christ, he served as a Sunday School teacher and elder. With his special knack for fixing things, he made himself available to do anything the church needed. He was a generous, selfless person who lived his Christian faith, and would help anyone in need. He also had a lifelong affiliation with the Boy Scouts, serving as his son’s Scout Master for Troop 11 in Jackson. He was a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, and especially enjoyed working at Camp Lewallen in Silva, Missouri.

Randy, Emma, and the kids loved to camp, and Randy always looked forward to the annual cousin reunion. His presence will be sorely missed.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 34 years, Emma Monroe Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; children, Lindsey (Jacob) Luebbers and daughter Willow of Jackson, and Dylan Seabaugh (fiancé Samantha Kidd) of Marble Hill; his mother, Dorothy Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Vicky (Bill) Inzer of Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee; and nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Emmas surviving family includes her mother, Linda (late Frank) Monroe of Jackson; her siblings, Cindy Monroe; Matt (Jennifer) Monroe; Susie (Brent) Lee; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Jackson Church of Christ, 310 North Shawnee Blvd, in Jackson. Todd Newman will lead a life celebration at 1 PM, Saturday, January 3, at the church. The ceremony will conclude with a Broken Arrow ceremony led by the Order of the Arrow, and then military honors.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests Camp Lewallen Quartermaster Court, or the Jackson Church of Christ.
