Raymond “Ray” Lee Moore passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born on February 25, 1938, in Millersville, Missouri, to Verda Loos Moore and Truman Moore.

A proud graduate of Jackson High School’s Class of 1955, Ray went on to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in January 1957. He was honorably discharged in January 1959, having achieved the rank of E-4 Signal Corps Specialist.

On July 31, 1959, Ray married the love of his life, Laura Gluckhertz, beginning a devoted partnership that would span more than six decades.

Ray built a successful career in sales, contributing his talents to companies including Sherwin-Williams and Continental Research. His warm personality, strong work ethic, and genuine interest in others led to many professional accomplishments and lasting connections. Outside of work, Ray found joy on the golf course. As a longtime member of Kimbeland Country Club, he developed deep friendships and took great pleasure in both the game and the camaraderie it brought. For many years, he especially treasured an annual week of golf with friends on the Florida coast.

A man of faith and service, Ray was an active member of First General Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, where he served as Head Usher and participated on the Trustee and Fellowship Committees. He also dedicated time to his community through involvement with the Jackson Jaycees and the Lions Club of Moberly, Missouri.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Laura of Jackson; his children LaRae (Mike) Leimer of Cape Girardeau, Alan (Doris) Moore of Jackson, and Brent (Maria) Moore of Millersville; his sister, Bonnie Johnston of Cape Girardeau; sister in laws, Sue (the Late Lonnie) Moore of Millersville, Mary (the Late Wayne) Moore of Cape Girardeau and his grandchildren Ashley (Josh Douglas) Gruber, Blake (Missy O’Neil) Greene, Hannah Moore, Sarah (Jacob King) Moore, Leah Moore, Taylor Moore, Trenton Leimer, and Abby (Marcell Espinoza) Leimer, along with nine great-grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, and his brothers Wayne Moore and Lonnie Moore.
