Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Rick Murphy, 70, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his home. He was born January 18, 1954, in Sacramento, CA to the late Hubert and Helen Clark Murphy. He and Patricia Jean Spencer were married on July 1, 2000, in Scott City Mo. Upon graduation Rick enlisted in the United States Air Force serving honorably for 20 years participating in both Dessert Shield and Storm as a TSGT/Crew Chief on A-10's. A very quiet man he loved his family, his animals and wood working. He enjoyed helping anyone he could. His dry sense of humor was infectious. He was a faithful man who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rick is survived by his wife of 24 years Patricia, and his loving family Beverly (David) Mirgeaux of Kelso, MD, Brian Shaffer, Nancy (Tom) Morris, and Brenda (Bill) White all of Cape with seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with one more on the way. In addition, he is survived by a sister Debbie (Joe) Pasiarb of Little Rock, AR and their sons Phillip and Michael Pasiarb. Rick was preceded by a sister Pam Gore. Services for Rick will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. The doors will open at 5 pm with a memorial service to start at 6 pm with Rev. Shawn Wasson officiating. Full Military Honors will conclude the services.
