Beloved high school coach, Robert E. “Bob” Sink, 78, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born May 12, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Edgar and Virginia Rae Byers Sink. He and Sharon Belford were married March 28, 1970, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Bob had a master’s degree in industrial technology. Through teaching, coaching, and refereeing, he touched the lives of thousands of students in Jackson, Cape Girardeau, and throughout Southeast Missouri.
To cherish his memory, Bob leaves his wife of 52 years, Sharon Sink of Cape Girardeau; their son, Corey (Molly) Sink, and grandsons, Asher and Ryder, all of Eureka, Missouri; a brother, Jon (Mary Ann) Sink of Grand Junction, Colorado; and two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Heslep of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Carol Belford-Lewallen (Lloyd) of Pocahontas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Sharon’s parents, Harry and Neil Belford.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Crossroads Fellowship Church in Jackson. A large attendance is anticipated and your patience will be appreciated by the staff of McCombs Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Anderson will lead a life celebration service at 6:30 p.m.. After the service, the family will adjourn for privacy.
