Roberta L. (Cotner) Ulrich

Roberta “Bobbie” L. Ulrich, 89, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Bobbie was born August 4, 1932 to Wesley H. and Grace Meyer Cotner in Leemon, Missouri.

Bobbie graduated from College High School in 1950. In her career she worked in several businesses; serving 16 years at the International Shoe Company.  She later worked for the Missouri Unemployment Office and SEMO University in the Financial Aide Department retiring in 1997. She independently sold Tupperware for 25 years and managed her own sales unit. After retirement she and her daughter, Sherri utilized their sewing and crafting skills to maintain a small craft business in Missouri and Colorado for 8 years.

She was a long-time member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville, Missouri and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group. Bobbie participated in the local chapter of Parents without Partners which gave her support and an outlet to help others.

Bobbie was a loving mother, and she is survived by a daughter Sherri (Michael) Punches of Colorado and a son, J. Steven of Scott City, Missouri, three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren and her children’s father, Melvin Ulrich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Loida Springmeyer and a son Gary.

A celebration of life memorial visitation will at 2 pm - until service time on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Chapel B at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, Missouri.

Celebration of life service will be at the funeral home 4 pm with Pastor Dr. Don Kuehle officiating. Private interment will follow  at New Bethel Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Missouri where she will be laid to rest beside her son.

The family is requesting those attending to wear something ‘red’, as this was her favorite color.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center to aid the family with final expense.
