Rose Mary (Drum) Asher

Rose Mary Asher, 90, of Jackson passed away Sunday March 3, 2024, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born September 26, 1933, in Oak Ridge, daughter of William "Bill" and Katie M Dickerson Drum. She and Delmar Asher were married on December 23, 1950, in Jackson. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1990. Rose Mary worked at Kroger Egg Plant for 13.5 years and for 33 years operated an in-home childcare service. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Rose Mary liked going to the Jackson Senior Center and attending church events. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and canning. Loving survivors include her children Tom (Peg) Asher of Jackson, Peggy Benson of St. Louis, Gary (Debbie) Asher of Jackson and Rhonda (Gary Green) Weston of Jackson; daughter in law Patti (the late Ronnie) Asher of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Delmar, son Ronnie Asher, daughter Cheryl (Brent) Parker, an infant daughter Teri Asher and granddaughter Jessica Benson. Visitation will be Wednesday March 6, 2024, from 9-11 am at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 11am, at McCombs, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran School.
