Royal Mueller, 87 of Jackson, Missouri died Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 4, 1939, in Perryville, Missouri to Oscar and Ella Luehrs Mueller. He married Marlene Schuessler on November 11, 1961, and she preceded him in death on May 7, 1995. He later married Leona “Pauline” Mizell Cook on November 20, 1999, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Royal was a machinist for McDonald Douglas over a 42-year span and he was a veteran of US Army. He moved to rural Perryville in 1975. He was baptized and confirmed at the Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, Missouri and later became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He was a member of American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, Missouri. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle, camping, dancing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Leona “Pauline” Mueller of Jackson; four children, Kevin Mueller of House Springs, Missouri, Donna (Terry) Snider of Percy, Illinois, Karen (Kevin) Hoch of Perryville and Tammy (Roy) Toler of Cape Girardeau; stepchild, Allen (Angie Perry) Cook of Jackson; grandchildren, Blake (Anna) Mueller, Andrew (Alex Winters) Brewer, Adam Brewer, Amy Brewer and Jordan Toler; five step grandchildren, Racheal Bohnert, Brandon Hoch, Elizabeth (Dylan) House, Bryant (Jenny) Snider and Mallorie (Lane Weaver) Snider; seven step great grandchildren, Madilynn, Lila, Hadlie , Lennox, Spencer, Olivia and Emerson; four siblings, Leon (Ardyth)Mueller of Frohna, Missouri, Roy (Irene) Mueller of Farrar, Eileen (Dave) Keau of St. Louis, Missouri and Clarence (Gloria) Mueller of Perryville.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Eugene Mueller, Alma Krueger and Alice Miesner.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9:00 am until time of service on Friday May 29, 2026 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 at the church with Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating.
Burial will be in Apple Creek Cemetery in Pocahontas, Missouri with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Missouri Veterans Home.
