Scarlett Summer Rose

Scarlett Summer Rose, 24, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 22, 1999, in St. Louis, daughter of Daniel E. and Robin Israel Rose.

Scarlett was born early and struggled with her disability, but that did not slow her down. She graduated from Bridgeway Academy in 2017. Scarlett enjoyed singing and art, and doing digital art was one of her favorite hobbies. She loved horses and her dogs. One day she hoped to go on a trip with her best friends to Australia.

Scarlett wrote poetry and short stories. While she loved so many people and doing so many things, her one constant from childhood to adulthood was "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood." She lived the words of his song, "It's You I Like."

Loving survivors include her parents; brother, Nicholas (Kat) Rose of Middletown, Ohio; sister, Tessa (Andrew) Buckelew of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; paternal grandmother, Donna Rose of Dexter, Missouri; nieces, Lexi Rose and Abigail, Julie and Eowyn Buckelew; and her nephews, Logan Simpson, Aiden and Dylan Malott and Trent Buckelew. Also surviving are her aunts, Aimee (Bill) Cooper, Linda Israel, Janet (Bob) Ward, Terra (Roger) Aufdenberg, Charleen (Mike) Sprabery and Lorie Israel.

Scarlett was preceded in death by her sister, Annabelle Grace Rose; paternal grandfather, Fred Rose; and maternal grandmother, Virginia Reed. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, at the funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Tanner officiating.

Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Missouri Pets.
