At the age of 21, Shauna was severely injured in an automobile accident. Extensive injuries from the accident left her to cope with physical challenges for the rest of her life, but she was strong and bravely fought the challenge of becoming a quadriplegic. Even though she was confined to a wheelchair, she graduated from Southeast Missouri State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in counseling.
Shauna attended Connection Point Church in Jackson and the former General Baptist Church, where she enjoyed helping in the nursery and participating in the Disciple Now program.
She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, oil painting, and watching birds in her garden and deer in her yard.
Loving survivors include her sister, Paula Fann of Jackson and her children Randall Fann and Kayty Haman; half-brother, Gary (Amanda) Fann of Jackson and their children Astonish, Ashton, Leia, and Elias; stepsister, Michelle Beal of Cape Girardeau; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shauna was a survivor in the truest sense, and was blessed to share cherished relationships with friends, Peggy and Jason Stieneke; and caregivers, Robyn Pryor, Melissa Gaskins, Cory Clark, and others
She was preceded in death by her mother, Zettie; father, Gary; stepmom, Sandra; maternal grandparents, Wilburn and Rose Smith; and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Clola Fann.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Rev. Kevin Mann will conduct the funeral service at 12:30 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Salem Cemetery near Millersville.
