Shirley Ann Reimann, age 79, of Fruitland, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born January 5, 1938, in Delta, Missouri, daughter of Benjamin Elvis and Neva Marie Shelton Dunning. She and Carl Reimann married August 20, 1960 at Delta Baptist Church. They had been married nearly 55 years when he passed away July 16, 2015.
Shirley was a graduate of Delta High School. She attended Hannibal LeGrange College and later graduated from Arkansas State University with a B.S. degree in education. Her 41 year teaching career included one year at Woodland R-2 in Palmyra, Missouri, eight years at Delta R-5 and 32 years as a second grade teacher at Jackson R-2. She was a charter member of the Fruitland Community Church and was active on the social committee.
Loving survivors include a son, Kevin Eugene "Gene" Reimann of Fruitland; two daughters, Carla (David) Aufdenberg of Jackson and Cheryl Collins of Fruitland; seven grandchildren, Kyle and Tommy Aufdenberg, Carley (Brent) Ellis, Cierra Reimann, Collin and Coltin Reimann, and Caylee Collins; two great-grandchildren, Dezahri and Major Dennard; three siblings, Jerry "Son" (Joyce) Dunning of Florida, Sharon (Jimmy) Russom and Larry (Janet) Dunning of Delta.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Kinder.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017, in Chapel A of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Parry officiating.
Interment will be in Hitt Cemetery near Arbor, Missouri.
