Shirley Ann Ruhl

February 1, 1931 — February 26, 2016

Shirley Ann Ruhl, 85 of Gordonville, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born February 1, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Thomas and Vinita Moro McFarland. She and Robert R. "Bonehead" Ruhl were married July 3, 1948. He passed away October 16, 2005.

Shirley enjoyed working puzzles, watching St. Louis Cardinal's Baseball, bird watching, and spending time with her family.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Barbara (Leonard) Bellew of Hayti, Missouri, Judy (Reynolds) Weeden of New Baltimore, Michigan, and Karen (Kenneth) Surface of Millersville; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; five sisters, Betty McFarland, Mary Ieppert, Joan Dulle, Virginia Iredale, and Joyce Wakefield; three brothers, Donald Taylor, Gary Oliphant and Bill Oliphant.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Thomas Eugene McFarland, Sr.

Friends may call from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1 2016, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
