Steven Glenn "Steve" Oldham, 58, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born January 13, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, to Glenn and Mary Sue Green Oldham.
Steve was a 1978 graduate of Jackson High School and a lifelong resident of Jackson.
He started his career at the former Schaper's IGA Foodliner in Jackson. Thereafter, he worked many years as a sales representative in wholesale bakery and deli.
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, and attended church at the Cape County Cowboy Church in Gravel Hill. In his spare time, Steve liked to fish, hunt, and play golf. He especially enjoyed being with his family.
Loving survivors include his mother, Mary Sue Oldham of Jackson; two siblings, Lisa (Tim) Billings of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and DeAnn (Jeff) Lorberg of Gordonville, Missouri; five nieces and nephews: Taylor Billings of New York, New York; Trent Billings of San Angelo, Texas; Leah (Justin) Metzger and son Granger of Wytheville, Virginia; Tyler (Katie) Lorberg and children Cooper and Brynlie of Gordonville, Missouri; and Laramie Lorberg of Gordonville; and his constant canine companions, Rocky and Tillie.
Glenn, Steve's dad passed away exactly a year before Steve. They were lifelong best buddies and Steve continued to struggle with the loss of his father.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from 1 p.m. to service time, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The memorial service will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 3 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews, Rev. Randy Riley, and Dr. Steve Seaford officiating.
Steve will privately be laid to rest with his father at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Cape County Cowboy Church in Gravel Hill; First Baptist Church Senior Ministeries; or Southeast Hospice.
