Steven Lee Hecht

Steven Hecht, 67, of Altenburg, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at his residence.

Steven was born July 24, 1956, in Perryville, to Edgar W. and Ruby Starzinger Hecht.

Steven was a 1974 graduate of Jackson High School.

Steven found great enjoyment in social media in his later years, and became quite the digital content creator with Facebook, Tik Tok, and Instagram. He enjoyed the outdoors, from riding his side by side to hunting, fishing and firewood. He dearly loved and enjoyed his dog, Ellie.

Loving survivors include a son, Andrew (Lindsey) Hecht and their children, Sophia, William, Alexandria, and Henry, of Altenburg; two daughters, Tara (Pat) Galkowski and their children, Maddie and Jackson of Wentzville, Missouri, and Elise (Chris) Moore and their son Miles of Wildwood, Missouri; and three sisters, Sharon (Marvin) McMillan of Friedheim, Dianne (H.W.) Meyr of Cape Girardeau, and Beverly (Gene) Koenig of Perryville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Amanda Hecht.

A memorial visitation will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 3-7pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Memorial service will be Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 10:30am at Immanual Lutheran Church in New Wells with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating.

Memorial may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
