Thelma E. Bollinger, age 83, of Jackson passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born September 8, 1934 at Patton, MO the daughter of James "Luther" and Flora Adeline Mayfield Cook. She and Bobby Ray Bollinger were married October 14, 1953 at Little Whitewater Baptist Church near Patton, Missouri. He passed away January 11, 2006.
Thelma was a lifelong member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Patton High School and had worked as a cook for 16 years at the Sedgewickville School and four years at the Meadow Heights School at Patton before retiring in 1989. Thelma loved to quilt, enjoyed gardening and was the happiest when her family was around; she never complained.
Loving survivors include a son, Rodney R. Bollinger and wife Sandy of Leonard, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Lee and husband, Kenneth of Fredericktown, Missouri and Susan "Susie" Davis and husband, Joey, of Marble Hill, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Tracy (Dan) Carlton, Brittany Kozal (fiancé, Chris Erker), Ryan (Heather) Lee, Justin Bollinger, Rebecca (Chris Ennenga) Randolph, Valerie (Bobby) Hicks, and Jeremy (McKaylla) Harris; and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Melba Fulbright, three brothers, Russell Cook Sr., Lynwood Cook and Arthur Cook.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral will be Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Interment will follow in Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Pulliam Cemetery.
