Thomas E. Elliott

Thomas Eugene Elliott, 69, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born January 12, 1955, in Farmington, Missouri, to Henry and Elva Mae Kronk Elliott.  He and Suzanne Glenda Kemerer were married February 24, 1974, in Festus.

Thomas enjoyed being outdoors, in the woods or just sitting on the porch watching birds on his feeders.  On one family vacation, he learned to wrestle alligators, an accomplishment that he was quite proud of.

Thomas was a loving, devoted husband, dad, and grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend.

Loving survivors include his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Suzanne Elliott of Jackson; two daughters, Angela (James “Jim”) Garrett and Stephanie (the late Clinton) Fallin, both of Jackson; three grandchildren, Katie, Ashley, and Nick Garrett; two “adopted” daughters and their families, Nichole Conley and children Micheal, Joshua, and Savannah, and Angela (Randy) Whitticre and daughter Avery; a brother and his family; Edwin (Sandra) Elliott and their children Stacy, Sherry, Edwin, and David, a sister, Sheila Baker; and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are Suzanne’s sisters, Sandra (the late Edward) Robertson, Sherry Shewcraft, and Kimberly Kemerer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorraine Hickson; a brother, Henry Elliott; and a niece, Tina Hickson.

Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to service time, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.  The Rev. Jay O’Neail will conduct the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 25th, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
