Timothy Harold “Tim” Tuschhoff, 58, of Jackson, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 2, 1962, in Cape Girardeau, son of Harold A. and Darlene “Kay” Tuschhoff. He and Beverly Morton were married May 22, 1982 at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson; she survives. Two daughters were born to their union Heather and Jessica.
Tim was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School. After graduation, he earned his associate degree as a diesel mechanic from Bailey Tech.
Immediately after college he went to work as a diesel mechanic for Sam Tanksley Trucking in Cape Girardeau until they went out of business, he was one of the last employees for Tanksley. He worked a short time for Lonestar before going to work for Byron L. Lang, Inc. During the time of employment with Byron L. Lang, Tim decided that he wanted a fleet of his own; with Bev by his side they owned and operated Tuschhoff Trucking until his health declined. Tim’s determination and good work ethics kept him working until his body would no longer allow, he was able to complete 30 years with Byron L. Lang, Inc. His daughters would best describe their dad as hardworking, strong, kindhearted, and stubborn.
Tim found a love for softball through his daughters. He coached girls’ tee-ball and travel ball until his daughters graduated. He was an inspirational coach for his teams, both on and off the field, always supporting each of their interests. Recently, he coached his granddaughter, Emily, as she started tee-ball in Jackson. Tim was very proud of the family. His world revolved around his two granddaughters.
Loving survivors include his wife of 38 years, Bev Tuschhoff; two daughters, Heather (Derek) Palisch and children Emily and Aubrie of Jackson; Jessica Tuschhoff (boyfriend, Aric Holzbauer), of Cape Girardeau; his parents, Harold A. and Darlene “Kay” Tuschhoff of Jackson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry (Linda) Morton of Jackson; two siblings, Daniel “Danny” (Kathy) Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau and Cheryl (Mark) Renne of Foristell, Missouri; brother-in-law Jeff (Mary) Morton of Jackson; several nieces and nephews; an uncle, Harlan (the late Marie) Tuschhoff; and an aunt, Helen Marie (the late Elmer) Koenig of Jackson.
